Ciao, Paolo
Paolo Pelosi, il nostro vicepresidente e prossimo presidente, ci ha lasciati ieri prematuramente. Ricordare Paolo è difficile perchè l’uomo e lo studioso appartengono a quella genie speciale che lascia un segno incancellabile nel mondo umano e scientifico. Si susseguono in queste ore messaggi da tutta Italia e da tutto il mondo scientifico: Paolo è stato uno studioso che viveva per la scienza. E la sua scienza era l’Anestesiologia, intesa come Disciplina che nell'accezione definita dalla sua Società scientifica vede un unicum tra Medicina perioperatoria, Rianimazione, Terapia Intensiva e Terapia del dolore. I suoi studi rappresentano una pietra miliare nel progresso scientifico e nella pratica clinica. Le sue relazioni e le sue lezioni hanno ispirato migliaia di giovani e meno giovani Anestesisti-Rianimatori.
A noi mancherà non solo il vicepresidente ma soprattutto l’amico che supportava e condivideva una visione della disciplina anestesiologica. A SIAARTI mancherà il futuro triennio che, sappiamo, sarebbe stato denso di progettualità e di grande crescita per la società scientifica, mancheranno i suoi “Forza SIAARTI, stronger together”. Alla famiglia, cui siamo vicini, mancherà l’uomo, il marito, il padre, il figlio. A tutti gli Anestesisti-Rianimatori mancheranno le sue lezioni e i suoi nuovi studi.

Our vice-president and incoming president Paolo Pelosi left us too soon. It is difficult to remember Paolo: he belonged to that special realm in which man and the scientist merge together to leave a mark both in the human and the scientific world. Right now, messages from all over italian and international scientific world follow one another. Paolo was a fantastic scientist who lived for science: his studies were focused on Anesthesiology as a Discipline that combines Perioperative Medicine, Resuscitation, Intensive Care and Pain Therapy - as defined by his and our Scientific Society. His studies represent a milestone in scientific progress and clinical practice. His talks and lessons inspired thousands of young and not-so-young Anesthesiologists and Intensivists.
We will miss not only our vice-president but a beloved friend, who supported and shared our vision of Anesthesiology. SIAARTI will miss a future three-year period that, we are sure, would have been a period of immeasurable growth for the scientific society. We will miss his "Go SIAARTI, stronger together" too. We are close to his family, that will miss the man, the husband, the father, and the son. All anesthesiologists will miss his teaching and his new studies.
